Readiness follows the decision

Data that works in a report may be inadequate for an agent making an operational commitment. Human analysts often repair missing definitions, stale extracts and conflicting documents through experience. An agent needs that meaning and those boundaries to be explicit.

AIDIVE starts with priority decisions and their dependencies. Identify authoritative records, reference knowledge, business rules and context, then establish who owns them, how current they must be and what happens when they are unavailable. This scopes the work to material needs without requiring an inventory of everything.

Deliver meaning and permission with the content

Useful context includes source authority, effective dates, relationships, permitted purposes and known limitations. Governed interfaces make operations, inputs, permissions, constraints and error states understandable to machine consumers. Authority to read data must remain distinct from authority to act on it.

Retrieval also needs evaluation. Test whether the right source reaches the model, whether it is relevant and permitted, and how the system handles conflict, stale guidance and insufficient evidence. A plausible answer from an inappropriate source is a readiness failure.

Illustrative example: a returns policy

A customer-service agent retrieves a returns policy for a product sold in several markets. Similar text is insufficient: the policy must apply to the customer's jurisdiction, product and purchase date. If the applicable source cannot be established, the system should ask, defer or escalate according to the decision's requirements.

If a case outcome is later saved as memory, define whether it records a verified fact, a correction or an interpretation. Review how source changes and deletion obligations reach indexes, caches and memory, so earlier context does not become permanent authority.
