Start with real work

Map the outcome, trigger, flow, decisions, queues, handoffs, hidden work and exceptions. Include systems, data, context, human judgment and failure conditions. Goal-directed execution needs a bounded objective and permitted action space rather than an artificial fixed sequence.

Design material authority seams

A stream can combine manual work, AI assistance, recommendations and bounded action. At each material seam, specify authority, human control, required evidence, prohibited actions, intervention, safe stop, attribution and recovery.

Close the operating and learning loop

Connect flow signals to orchestration changes, experience signals to design, incidents to control review, evaluations to release readiness and intervention patterns to operating hypotheses. Impact determines whether observed changes support a business-value claim.
