Multi-Dimensional Value Model
The Multi-Dimensional Value Model examines financial, operational, stakeholder, decision, risk and capability effects together. It records positive and negative consequences, who experiences them and where a gain transfers effort or exposure to someone else.
AI transformation can affect financial, operational, customer and human outcomes. Examine these effects together, including tradeoffs and unintended consequences.
Explore the holistic AIDIVE frameworkWhy this matters
A single aggregate return can hide poor service, exclusion, displaced work or loss of capability. Some boundaries remain non-negotiable even when the financial case is attractive.
Questions to bring to the work
- Which group gains, and who absorbs new work, cost or risk?
- Which benefit is financial, operational, experiential, protective or a reusable capability?

I.2.1Financial ValueDistinguish attributable revenue, margin, cash flow, verified savings and usable capacity, keeping gross, net, recurring and one-off effects separate.
I.2.2Operational Performance ValueMeasure end-to-end flow, quality, reliability and variability, including handoff burden and downstream work displaced by the intervention.
I.2.3Customer, Employee & Stakeholder ValueAssess experience, accessibility, trust, autonomy and burden directly rather than inferring stakeholder value from internal productivity.
I.2.4Decision Quality & SpeedTest whether human–AI decisions improve quality and timeliness under real conditions while retaining explanation, challenge and reversibility.
I.2.5Risk Avoidance & Resilience ValueExamine reduced likelihood or severity of loss together with recovery, safe degradation and resilience, making valuation uncertainty explicit.
I.2.6Capability, Data & Learning ValueRecognise reusable data, evaluation, skills and learning assets when there is evidence of their contribution or a validated future option.
I.2.7Negative Externalities and Value Trade-offsRecord harms and unintended consequences alongside benefits; an aggregate gain cannot erase a non-negotiable constraint or another group’s burden.
What useful evidence looks like
- A value and disbenefit map with affected groups, horizons and trade-offs.
- Flow, decision-quality, stakeholder and risk measures alongside the financial baseline.
